Seperating Realistic Fiction from Earth Congruences

The Void is infinite, so it’s perfectly logical that an infinite number of Universes, and Dimensions, can exist. Taking this view, one could come to the conclusion that every fictional story, no matter how realistic, tells a tale from a different Congruence of Earth. Even though the Multiverse is limitless, this viewpoint still grants an image of an overcrowded Multiverse and builds up Nexus Prime as being much more of a Nexus than it really is.
It is true that books, and most movies, are windows to another world, and occasionally Portals if the reader/viewer is strongly drawn to the story. Most often these are merely portals for the mind rather than the whole being, but there are a few isolated incidents, such as in the Myst computer games. However, not all books or movies tell of other Universes, or even diminutive Dimensions with amazingly short timelines. The rule is this, as far as my research states: Unless any variations, besides animals that talk without humans understanding them, from the basic social, cultural, technological, or magical laws of Earth are noticeable in the story, it is merely a story about something that MIGHT have happened on Earth, but didn’t. Same goes for historical fiction.
